Inanna was the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, and fertility. Inanna was also known as “the Queen of Heaven.” Inanna has also been associated with beauty, divine law, sex, political power, and the planet Venus. Inanna had many symbols chief amongst them were the lion and the eight pointed star. Inanna was originally worshiped in Sumer, and later by the Akkadians, Babylonians and Assyrians under the under the name of Ishtar. This spinner ring consists of different depictions of Inanna and Ishtar in the logo-syllabric script known as Cuneiform from Mesopotamia.
